Have you always wanted to be a part of a big Music event?
Do you know how to organise events and how to lead other volunteers?
Then Music on the Dommel is for you!

On June 2-3, 2012, the Music on the Dommel festival will take place for the third time. For two whole days the common theme will be classical music, performed in the area behind the Van Abbe Museum in Eindhoven On Saturday, music associations from Eindhoven and surrounding areas will get the opportunity to play for a large audience at a unique location: on a big floating stage on the Dommel river.
On Sunday, children will perform with Het Brabant Orkest during the matinee concert.

For the organisation of the festival are we looking for a large group of volunteers who will make the festival happen. Through volunteering:

• You will contribute to one of the most publically-accessible cultural festivals in Eindhoven.
• You will support hundreds of musicians and bring thousands of people in touch with classical music
• You will gain experience in organising a big event.

And on top of that:

• You will receive a Music on the Dommel volunteers shirt
• Food and drinks during the festival and build up will be taken care of
• You will attend the introduction party
• You will experience a great week with fun young people
• The Van Abbe museum will temporarily be your backyard

Promotion committee

Prior to Music on the Dommel, it is very important that visitors know that there will be a festival. We are looking for 10 volunteers who want to put up posters, spread flyers and promote the festival in groups of 2 to 3 persons in and around Eindhoven. We will arrange a small meeting, 5 weeks before Music on the Dommel, where we will discuss when you are available and in which area you will be promoting.
You can decide when you want to work.

Technical services committee

We are looking for 3 volunteers who would like to arrange the technical aspects of Music on the Dommel. This committee will start in February. This includes lighting, sound, power supply and the water supply. It's preferred that you have some experience in this area. Prior the festival you will arrange all technical aspects in collaboration with the organizational board and with the light and sound technicians.
On Friday before the festival you will begin with the building of the technical services. During the festival you will be present both on Saturday and Suday and you will make sure all infrastructure is connected on and around the stage, direct the technical volunteer crew, and also oversee the breaking down of all technical services.

Pre and after festival committee

We are looking for 3 volunteers who will make sure that the festival will be built up and afterwards is broken down. This committee will start in the second half of February. Prior to the festival it is very important that there is an inventory of what is needed for Music on the Dommel, and to ensure that all of this will be arranged. Planning scenarios will have to be made and volunteers organized and deployed to make sure this is realized.
From Tuesday, May 29 till Wednesday, June 6 you will be available in shifts to monitor the building and break down of the festival. Keep in mind that the times are between 7:00 and 21:00 during the build up and till 1:00 a.m. each night during the festival.

Volunteers committee

We are looking for two persons who want to be responsible for everything regarding volunteers before, during and after Music on the Dommel. This committee will start in the second half of February. Your tasks include recruitment, management and counselling of the volunteers. There will also be contact with the other committees about how many volunteers they need. We prefer that you have some experience with this subject.
You will make plans for the number of volunteers at specified times, and make sure that they are present and can be directed. During the festival you will manage all volunteers.
